概要 | Descriptions:

Japan’s startup ecosystem is growing, but capital is not flowing equally. Women launch 10% of new businesses in Japan, yet receive only 2% of startup investment, and 91% of Japanese VC firms still have no female partners. The money exists. The decisions about where it goes do not yet reflect the full opportunity.
Earlier this evening, the Diversity & Policy session examined how the system itself is designed. This session goes deeper into what actually happens inside VC firms and investment committees, and what investors, founders, and ecosystem builders must do differently now within the system they operate today.

What This Session Covers
From the fundraising reality women founders face today to what drives investment decision-making behavior, this session examines where the decisions are going wrong, what structural changes inside Japan’s VC industry would actually shift who gets funded, and what lessons from faster-moving ecosystems in Europe are applicable here. The session closes with concrete commitments from each speaker on what they will do differently in the next 6 to 12 months.

Who This Is For
  • Venture capitalists and corporate investors looking to act on gender diversity in their portfolios
  • Women founders navigating Japan’s funding landscape
  • Ecosystem builders working to expand access to capital
  • Anyone who wants to understand how investment decisions actually get made and changed
